Embrace Virtues Vision and Intention
Embrace Virtues was established in 2011 with the vision of enabling every child regardless
of culture, religion or socio-economic background, to access character education through virtues.
We operate on the basic assumptions that:
• Every child is born with all of the virtues in potential, and it is our job as parents, care-givers and educators to train the child in each virtue
• The first few years of life are a critical opportunity in the development of the child’s brain, when neural pathways are being formed and
character is being established
• Character education enables children to reach their full potential and develop authentic self esteem
• It is never too early to begin character education – from birth is ideal
• Virtues such as helpfulness, respect, and courtesy are at the heart of every culture and belief system
• Virtues education helps to create safe and harmonious learning environments and can be seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the daily curriculum
or family life
All Embrace Virtues products, resources and programs have been thoughtfully developed in direct response to feedback and requests from parents, grandparents, educators and community members.
Information Sessions and Character Strength Workshops are carefully planned to provide maximum exposure to the power and potential of character education.
Character Strength Workshops are in-depth interactive and innovative workshops that equip educators to empower, nurture, and encourage key character strengths in children. Educators will learn how to integrate the Five Strategies of the Virtues into their classrooms. Each session provides insight into character education and opportunities to practise using the language of the virtues and develop the skills to recognise teachable moments, set clear virtues boundaries and offer companioning. Practical ideas are offered and handouts and resources are provided to support the workshop outcomes.
