Write down 3 new things that you a grateful for. This rewires your brain to scan the world not for the negative, but for the positive.

 

 

 

Journaling (Slatcher & Fennebaker, 2006)

 

Journaling about one positive experience you’ve had over the past 24 hours, allows your brain to re-live it.

 

 

 

 

Exercise (Babyak et al., 2000)

 

Exercise teaches your brain that your behaviour matters

 

 

 

 

Meditation (Dweck, 2007)

 

Meditation allows your brain to get over the ‘cultural ADHD’ that we’ve been creating by trying to do multiple tasks at once, and encourages our brain to focus on the task at hand.

 

 

 

 

Random Acts of Kindness (Lyubominsky, 2005)

Conscious acts of of kindness – write one positive email praising or thanking someone in your social support network.
